Legalismo: quédense con este concepto como clave para entender el devenir del mundo en los próximos años. "Legalismo" como expresión de la querencia neoliberal por las soluciones judiciales como ejercicio autoritario y elitista legitimado globalmente.

And now: About the education systems in this city

I've got the feeling that children in the local system get trained to be obedient employees, whereas those in the "private" system (ESF, EMI, IB, etc) get trained to be managers and entrepreneurs. It's a system of social division and a way to deter social mobility as crude as it gets. Back in my country I went to public schools and still managed to get a university degree and teach both in my country and abroad. I'm worried about my daughter having the same chances here. Since I don't have enough money to afford a private school in HK, we'll soon have to play against the odds and try to make it the rough / public way here. Nevertheless, I have the impression that kids who "make it" through the public system do it thanks to their own virtues, not those of the system (for there might be none to it). May the coming years give me the wisdom  to help and guide my kids.

Not very nice to say it, but let's face it: Hong Kong, a bad feeling city that makes bad people successful. Now, once established the fact, we should research into the deeper causes of this.

La conclusión

Es curioso que, tras más de doce años en esta ciudad, me llegue​ (sin relación alguna con mi actual empleo), de forma lenta, gradual, concisa, la conciencia irrevocable, terrible, tranquila y estremecida, casi ajena y casual, de que, laboralmente, y en otros muchos aspectos, esta ciudad es una pequeña gran merienda de negros. Más vale tarde que nunca...
